Catamarans, paddle-boarding, champagne and dancing: Incredible activities await at EPT Barcelona

The primary focus of any event on the European Poker Tour (EPT) is always going to be the poker itself, and it’s easy to see why with many millions of euros on the line. However, EPT festivals are always packed with activities away from the tables too — and everyone attending this year’s EPT Barcelona should look out for a heap of special events to complement the poker, for players and guests alike.

You can ride paddle boards and catamarans, sample champagne and enjoy a summer fiesta. And if all of that sounds too energetic, there are drinks receptions and parties for you to mingle, relax and make the most of the luxurious surroundings.

WELCOME DRINKS

August 10
6pm-8pm – Arts Hotel Rooftop

All PokerStars players, plus their friends and family, are invited to an opening welcome drinks in the rooftop bar of the Arts Hotel. Get to know your fellow players, as well as many of the PokerStars representatives in Barcelona, to exchange stories, share your preparation tips, and generally socialise before you all become sworn enemies at the tables.

PADDLE-BOARDING

August 10-20
Daily – 10.30am

Get paddle-boarding on the Med

It won’t escape your notice when you head to EPT Barcelona that the casino is right beside the sea. Specifically, those are the warm waters of the Mediterranean, and this is one of Europe’s most popular destinations for a combined beach and city vacation.

Every day at 10.30am, EPT players and guests are invited to try paddle-boarding around Port Olimpic — a chance to test your balance and explore the ocean, under the careful instruction and supervision of qualified instructors.

There are five slots available every morning for an hour-long trip, so get signed up and enjoy.

POKERSTARS SUMMER FIESTA

August 11
5pm – Mas Vidrier

The sumptuous Villa Mas Vidrier is the location for an evening of fun and games, hosted by Team PokerStars Ambassadors.

Fun and games at the fiesta

Up to 50 players will be divided into eight teams, who will then compete in a series of team games. It’s going to be more along the lines of Gladiators than the Olympics, but the spirit of competition will run deep.

There’s a swimming pool and a terraces to relax, with BBQ and drinks provided, plus a DJ from 5pm to 11pm. Transport will be provided for the 30-minute journey to the venue and back.

And there are prizes. Of course there are prizes. The winning team will be invited to play a crazy pineapple flipout between them, where each of them will be guaranteed a prize. The winner will get a €1,100 seat to a Main Event on a regional poker tour of the player’s choice (UKIPT, Estrellas, Eureka, etc.).

The runner-up will get a €400 ticket for a Road To PSPC Main Event of the player’s choice, while all the other team-mates will receive a $109 online satellite ticket to a regional tour event.

That’s a pretty amazing line-up of prizes for the winning team. And you have to be in it to win it.

Winning team prizes

2nd – Road to PSPC Main event players choice seat €400
