Weekend highlights

Big bounty scores on opening day of series: The Bounty Builder Series 2022 kicked off for an exciting opening day on Sunday with 14 events on the schedule. Among the first day winners, “VICTOR TXR1” of Brazil took down the $215 special edition Warm-Up for a total of $40,811; “carloshmz”, also from Brazil, won the BBS09: $215 NLHE for a total of $40,408; and “Ytuytu96” of Austria smashed through the competition in the BBS11: $215 Big Knockouts event for a total of $24,656.

Chris Oliver is da nuts

Chris Oliver earns second ever BBS title: Christopher “ImDaNuts” Oliver asserted himself over a field of high rollers in the special edition $530 Sunday Cooldown. Chris Oliver has over $16.5 million in online tournament winnings to his name, including WCOOP, SCOOP and Winter Series titles. He earned his first Bounty Builder Series trophy back in 2020 and now, on the opening day of the 2022 Bounty Builder Series, he’s bagged a second. Oliver won a total of $27,640 in the Cooldown, which includes $11,788 in bounties.

In the High Roller Club: PokerStars’ High Roller Club is the place where the truly nosebleed players mix it up on a regular basis. This weekend, “Legenden” of Belarus won the $1,050 Sunday Warm-Up for $16,157; Team Pro member Sam “SamSquid” Grafton of the UK kept his composure to win the $530 Sunday Marathon for $8,261; and Austrian pro Pascal “Paffchen” Hartmann overcame a tough final table in the $1,050 Sunday Supersonic to scoop first place for $19,617. In the Sunday HR, “Proudflop” from the UK and Ireland’s “FutureOfMe” made a heads-up deal. Proudflop came first for $27,609, while FutureOfMe came second but took slightly more from the deal, walking away with $28,333.

Interesting Day 2 forming in PKO Sunday Million: This weekend’s Sunday Million is a special edition PKO format as part of the Bounty Builder Series. “claire388” of Canada is currently chip lead. “Castanella” of Russia is close behind and has earned the most bounties so far – $3.7k and counting. Interestingly, it was a year to remember for Castanella, who won his first trophy for a low stakes SCOOP victory and then final tabled the WCOOP-L Main Event, finishing fifth for $49k – their first and only five-figure score. Day 2 could yield a life changing result for this aspiring player. Hoping to climb the ladder and challenge for a top spot will be Team Pro’s Tom “MajinBoob” Hayward of New Zealand, who currently sits in eighth place. We’ll bring you the update tomorrow.

lissi stinkt leads $5k Titans PKO: Also a special edition as part of the Bounty Builder Series, the $5k Titans event is now down to just 9 high rolling elites. “lissi stinkt” of Austria has the chip lead and has already locked up bounties to the tune of $19k. Second place “sajanas23” of Lithuania has also done well for themselves in bounties, with $18k already secured as we enter Day 2.
